This report summarizes activities in RAP during 1995 in the areas of icing and winter storms, ground de-icing, convective weather forecasting, convective weather detection, ceiling and visibility, the Terminal Area Surveillance System (TASS), turbulence, Hong Kong Operational Wind Shear Warning System (OWWS) studies, the Aviation Weather Research Products Display (AWRP), and the Aviation Weather Development Laboratory (AWDL). The most significant accomplishment for RAP this year was the development of a prototype Operational Wind Shear Warning system for the new Hong Kong Airport including development of wind shear and turbulence algorithms.
