This report summarizes scientific activities in RAP during 1997 in the areas of terrain induced turbulence, in-situ turbulence detection, Hong Kong Operational Windshear Warning System studies, icing and winter storms, ground deicing, convective weather forecasting, quantitative precipitation estimation, hydrological modeling, weather modification evaluation studies, and the development of operational weather and analysis systems for operational use. The most significant accomplishment for RAP this year was the completion of the Hong Kong Operational Windshear Warning System.
