The horizontal domain for the GTG forecast is a
301x225-point
grid matching that used for the RUC-20 model. The vertical levels of the
forecast range from 10000 ft to 45000 feet, in increments of 1000 ft.
The images accessible from this web page are composite images for
particular elevation ranges and forecast times. Given a particular
range of elevations, the composite, or projection, is obtained at
each grid point by taking the maximum value at the grid point over the
given elevation range.

Note that when available (which is usually for only 0 hour forecasts), pilot reports and accelerometer data ocurring within ninety minutes of generation time of the RUC-2 data have been overlayed on the forecast image. The null-valued accelerometer data are represented by the

symbol, and the legend for the pirep symbols is displayed below.
