       aggregates of dendrites seen.

1418 Halfway to Longmount snow stopped sky bright in NNE

1430 getting brighter-Heading East to Platteville

     After Radar advise decide to Head SSW towards Denver Airport
     Bad roads speed limited to 20mph

1605 a few specks of snow set up at 120th & Cavanaugh Mile road
     position 39 54' 47"   104 32' 47"

1615 Large dishes put out for chemistry sample
     blackboard shows:-
          Stellar
          plate with dendritic extensions
          "fern" like crystal
          dendrites (mainly)
          Sector Plate
          Aggregates of stellars and dendrites

1620 Waiting for Cooler to get cold. Snow is now falling heavily
     came from the NW, wind extremely strong from the North.

1635 Give up waiting for cooler - take first snow sample
     Broad branch crystal @ 1
     Plate                @ 2
     "fern" like crystal  @ 3 & 4?

1640 next snow sample  -  snowing more lightly
     Broad Branched crystal @5
     Fernlike branches @6
     Broad branched aggregate @7

1645 3rd snow sample - snow falling heavily again
     Long Broad Branches - aggregates 
     Some riming with plates & ferns on end @8,9&10

1650 4th snow sample 
     Broad branch, long branches with plates on end &
     dendrites growing on plates @ 11 & 12?

1655 Chemistry sample taken in

1657 New Cups for Chem sample put out

1659 5th snow sample - wind even stronger from north
     broad branches with plate on top @13
     Aggregate of broad branches slightly rimed @14
        Broad Branch "don't Know" @15

1706 snow is lighter, still strong winds 

1708 6th Snow sample
     Rimmed Broad branch @16
     plate with long branches & ferns on end + another plate @17
     plate in center over dendrite slightly rimmed @ 18
     small plate with long branches, small plates on end @19

1715 7th Snow sample - snow heavy again
     Broad branch with wide plates on end @20 & 21 - see sketch
     Slightly rimmed sector @22

1719 bring in second chemistry sample

1724 8th snow sample
     dendritic aggregate @24
     long big dendrite @25 & 26
     lightly rimmed branches with plates on the end. Two of these seen@27
     Branch with big plate in center @28

1730 snow almost stopped 3rd chemistry sample put out

1737 9th snow sample - Bright sky in west
     long thin branches @29
     moderately rimmed broad branch @30&31
     Big aggregate plate in center slightly rimmed @32&33?

1742 10th snow sample - just enough snow for another
     pristine plate with branches @34

1744 snow stopped

1745 get chem sample - winds calm, clear overhead, see glow of
     denver on the low cloud.
