Dr Bruintjes has lead, conducted and participated in many field programs in the U.S. and other parts of the world. Recent examples are the Arizona Program, NASA SAFARI- 2000 biomass burning experiment in Southern Africa, the National Science Foundation IMPROVE (2001) project to improve physical parameterizations in numerical models, the Program for the Augmentation of Rainfall in Coauhuila (PARC) (1996-prsent) sponsored by the National Commission of Water in Mexico, the United Arab Emirates Chemistry and Rainfall experiment (2001-current) sponsored by the Office of H.H. The President in the UAE, and the National Science Foundation/NCAR IDEAS project with the NCAR C-130 (2002).
