On a personal
note...My background:
Born in Washington, D.C., moved to Boulder,
Colorado in 1964 when father Stan Ruttenberg joined NCAR.
Graduated from Boulder High School in 1980. Was a member of the marching band, pep band, stage bands, orchestra and musical pit orchestra. Kept up with enough academics to take the Calculus AP exam.
Graduated from Oberlin College and Conservatory in 1985 with a Bachelor of Arts in Math and a Bachelor of Music Education. Quit playing the trumpet and saxophone to concentrate on the violin.
Graduated from Syracuse University in 1988 with a Master of Music in violin performance. Was a string fellow in the Syracuse Symphony Orchestra and toured to Carnegie Hall.
Graduated Summa Cum Laude from Regis University December 1999 with a B.S in Computer Science and minor in applied math.
Current areas of expertise:
Worked at the Scientific Computing Division from March 1997 to Feb. 1999 as Administrative Assistant III and Software Engineer I. Wrote perl scripts to support registration/judging of the Colorado Computational Science Fair.
Worked at the High Altitude Observatory from Sept. 1997 to Feb. 1999 as a temp, Secretary and Administrative Assistant III. Worked on early versions of the HAO home page, and was nominated for the 1996 Education Performance Award.
Hike with the Colorado Mountain Club, the Sierra Club , the Mosaic Outdoor Mountain Club and more. Last summer, biked in the MS150 Bike Tour and finished the Danskin Triathlon.
Play bridge with the Flatirons Ski Club, Monday night duplicate at the UMC, plus the (occasional) weekly lunch game at FLAB atrium. If interested in playing, contact me at the email address given above.
